Italian trains : Intercity

Intercity trains in Italy are a comfortable and quick way to travel between major cities and towns. These trains are operated by Trenitalia, the national railway company of Italy.

These trains are not considered high-speed trains, as they have more frequent stops along their routes than the high-speed Le Frecce and Italo trains.

Seat reservations are mandatory for these trains ; for travelers who purchase a point to point ticket, the reservation will be automatically included with the ticket. For travelers who purchase a rail pass that includes Italy, a seat reservation supplement will need to be booked.
